Accessible therapy without compromise
Our Low-cost Therapy Service makes quality therapy more accessible while maintaining the highest standards of care.
We work in partnership with respected UK universities and training providers, offering placements to trainee counsellors who have reached the stage of being ready to practise. This means they’ve completed extensive training and are now gaining clinical experience under the close supervision of our senior therapy team.
Each therapist is:
Matched with a qualified mentor from our professional team
Carefully selected through a rigorous recruitment process
Supported with regular clinical supervision and reflective practice
This ensures every client benefits from both the therapist’s fresh perspective and the experience of our wider Therapy Huddersfield team.
Is certified as ready to practise by their training establishment.

CBT is an evidence-based approach that helps you understand and change unhelpful thought patterns and behaviours. We use it to support clients dealing with anxiety, depression, trauma and stress.
With CBT, you’ll work with your therapist to:
Identify negative thought patterns that contribute to distress
Learn new coping skills to manage emotions and reactions
Change unhelpful behaviours that keep you stuck
Build confidence and resilience to handle life’s challenges
CBT develops tools to create real and lasting change.

IFS is a powerful, evidence-based approach to healing trauma and developing self-awareness. This compassionate therapy helps you understand and manage emotional triggers, making sense of behaviours that may feel confusing or self-sabotaging. Rather than seeing these patterns as flaws, IFS recognizes them as natural responses to past experiences.
Through IFS, you can cultivate inner balance, gain clarity, and experience deep relief. Many clients report feeling more in control of their emotions and better equipped to navigate life with a sense of calm, confidence, and self-compassion.
-
Integrative Therapy, developed by Dr Richard Erskine, takes a holistic approach to understanding how your life experiences have shaped you. This therapy helps you make sense of your emotions and behaviours, particularly in response to past challenges or trauma.
Rather than seeing these responses as problems, Integrative Therapy recognises them as natural.

Person-Centered Therapy is at the core of everything we do at Therapy Huddersfield. This approach, foundational to our practice, recognizes that only you can truly understand your own experiences. We support you in gaining self-awareness and personal agency, helping you navigate and manage your life. Our therapists provide a safe, empathetic space where you can explore your thoughts and feelings, ensuring that your needs and growth are always at the heart of your therapy.
We understand that the variety of therapies available can feel overwhelming, which is why our trained therapists work with you to find the most effective approach. We follow a pluralistic model, meaning we prioritize what works best for you rather than applying a one-size-fits-all method.
