Laura Lee

HCPC-Registered Art Psychotherapist

Meet Laura, an HCPC-registered Art Psychotherapist who brings extensive training and clinical insight, supporting experiences that may feel too complex for words. Art Therapy is a protected, evidence-based profession in the UK, offering a meaningful way for young people and adults to explore their inner world.

Much of Laura’s career has been spent alongside children and adolescents who have faced significant adversity — young people who are adopted, neurodivergent, or living with the impact of trauma, neglect, or disrupted attachment. In these settings, she has become known for the calm, steady presence she brings into the room. Through image-making, metaphor, and gentle therapeutic pacing, she supports children and teens to communicate feelings they may be too overwhelmed, too young, or too frightened to speak aloud.

Laura is equally passionate about her work with adults. Many of the people she supports carry emotional wounds that have been held for years — sometimes decades — including the impact of childhood abuse, sexual trauma, coercive control, chronic invalidation, or long-term relational harm. Others come to her carrying grief, identity struggles, or a sense of disconnection from themselves after years of coping in silence. Laura’s sessions offer a steady, grounding space where imagery, creativity, and therapeutic conversation work together to bring coherence to experiences that may feel fragmented or overwhelming. Whether someone identifies as “artistic” or not is unimportant — it is the process, not the product, that creates change.

She also offers family art psychotherapy, using shared creative work to strengthen parent–child relationships, rebuild safety and trust, and help families navigate challenging dynamics in a collaborative and accessible way. Laura’s approach is warm, attuned, and quietly transformative, offering a gentle path into healing for those who might not otherwise know how to begin.
