Hypnotherapy
alongside other therapeutic techniques such as traditional talking therapy, EMDR & EFT to support release and lasting change.
Are you feeling stuck in patterns you cannot seem to change?
Sometimes, understanding the problem is not the same as being able to shift it. By combining talking therapy with hypnotherapy and other therapeutic techniques, this approach helps uncover the deeper reasons why certain fears, habits or ways of coping keep repeating. These sessions are shaped around you and what feels most important to explore. Talking therapy comes first, with hypnotherapy, EMDR and EFT introduced where helpful to support real and lasting change.
Much of what holds us back is not always fully conscious.
We may be able to explain what is happening, but still feel trapped inside the same reactions, fears or behaviours. That is because not everything is held at a conscious level. This work helps access the deeper patterns beneath the surface, so what feels stuck can begin to soften, shift and release.
Work with our specialist therapist to explore your situation and work collaboratively through a range of therapeutic techniques to uncover and release habits, patterns and emotions you can’t seem to change.
Could this approach help you?
This work can be especially helpful when you know something is not right, but cannot seem to shift it through thinking or talking alone. This approach helps explore what may be sitting underneath these repeating patterns, emotions and habits, to create lasting change in your life. You might notice that:
If you are experiencing any of the feelings below, you are not alone.
Repeat the same patterns in life or relationships
Feel stuck in habits, fears or behaviours you cannot shift
Are hard on yourself or
struggle with confidence
Want change, but do not know how to access it
You know something from the past is still affecting you
Feel anxious, overwhelmed or emotionally reactive
How sessions work
Sessions begin by exploring what has been happening for you and identifying a clear area of focus. Many people come with a specific issue, goal or repeating pattern they want to change, whether that is anxiety, a trauma that still feels present, or a behaviour that keeps getting in the way of life.
From there, our specialist works with you to implement a range of therapeutic techniques such as hypnotherapy, EMDR and EFT to help uncover the patterns connected to that issue. They’ll work with you to identify what is happening beneath the surface, and support movement in the area you want to work on. The aim is not simply to understand the problem, but to help you begin to release what has been holding it in place.
Identify repeating patterns you can’t change
Understand what may be driving reactions
Release what’s held beneath the surface
Shift the way you respond to situations
Feel more in control & able to move forward
This is focused therapy, with space to work towards real movement in each session.

What makes our hypnotherapy different
-
Sessions are rooted in conversation, with therapeutic techniques such as hypnotherapy, EMDR and EFT brought in where they feel helpful. Rather than relying on one fixed method, Cath uses these approaches as tools within the work, helping to deepen the therapy when needed and support movement in the areas that feel stuck.
-
You remain in control throughout the session. There is space to talk through what has been happening, explore the areas you want to focus on, and work collaboratively on what feels like the right next step. This is not about being put under hypnosis for a full session, but about using different therapeutic approaches thoughtfully and together.
-
Hypnotherapy is one of several therapeutic techniques Cath may draw on during the session. Depending on what feels most appropriate, this may also include EMDR, EFT, talking therapy, psychoeducation and communication-based work. Using a range of approaches allows the session to be tailored to you, helping support the most meaningful outcome and lasting change.
-
These sessions are shaped around what is unfolding in the room. Our specialist, Cath, listens carefully for what feels important, where something may be sitting beneath the surface, and when a specific therapeutic technique may help bring greater clarity or release. This allows the work to stay flexible, focused and responsive to you.
Typical areas suited for this therapy
Many of the ways we think, feel and behave are shaped by patterns stored beneath conscious awareness. These patterns can come from past experiences, difficult memories, learned beliefs, emotional responses or habits that have become deeply rooted over time. By working with the subconscious, therapy can help bring these patterns into awareness, process what feels stuck, and create a way forward.
This tailored therapy supports a wide range of situations …
Trauma & PTSD
Fears & phobias
Anxiety & overthinking
Social anxiety & self-consciousness
Childhood trauma
Low confidence
Grief & loss
Bad habits

Therapeutic techniques
Cath draws on a range of approaches depending on what feels most appropriate for you. These techniques are all used in service of the same aim: helping you access and shift what may be keeping you stuck. They may be used interchangeably and are only introduced when you and Cath identify an area you would like to focus on, making each session feel collaborative, flexible and tailored to you.
EMDR
EMDR, or Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, is a structured therapeutic approach often used to help the brain process difficult memories and reduce the emotional intensity attached to them. It works by using bilateral stimulation, such as eye movements, while you focus on a specific memory, feeling or belief. Cath may use EMDR to help process experiences that still feel stuck, distressing or unresolved, and to support a calmer and more balanced response over time.
Hypnotherapy
Hypnotherapy uses guided relaxation and focused attention to help you access the subconscious mind in a calm, controlled way. In this state, the mind is often more open to exploring patterns, beliefs and emotional responses that may sit beneath everyday awareness. You remain aware and in control throughout. Cath may use hypnotherapy when it feels helpful to work beneath the surface of an issue and support deeper, more lasting change.
EFT
EFT, often known as tapping, combines focused attention on a thought, feeling or issue with gentle tapping on specific points of the body. It is often used to help regulate the nervous system, reduce emotional intensity and support release where feelings feel stuck or overwhelming. Cath may use EFT when emotional responses feel strongly held in the body, or when a client needs support to feel calmer, more grounded and better able to process what is coming up.
Psychoeducation Based Work
Psychoeducation helps clients understand how the mind, body and nervous system respond to stress, trauma, patterns and relationships. Communication-based work can also help people notice how they express needs, respond to others and repeat familiar dynamics in everyday life. Cath may bring these approaches in where helpful to deepen understanding, strengthen self-awareness and support change, particularly when relationship patterns, conflict or emotional triggers are part of the issue being explored.
All sessions include:
Talking Therapy
Talking therapy creates space to explore what has been happening, identify patterns and build clarity around what may need attention. It can help make sense of emotional responses, relationships, past experiences and current difficulties, while also bringing unconscious themes more clearly into awareness. Cath uses therapeutic conversation as the foundation of her work, helping clients identify a clear focus and understand where deeper techniques may be most beneficial within the session.
Different techniques, one shared aim: helping you shift what is keeping you stuck.
